Part-Time Fundraiser and Public Engagement Coordinator

 

Compensation: $30/hour. Average 20 hours/week.

The Tenants Union seeks a passionate and driven individual to lead fundraising and public outreach efforts and to engage and inspire volunteers. The fundraising component is crucial in ensuring the financial sustainability of having a paid staff member to advocate for tenants’ rights with stakeholders and to organize and mobilize volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies to achieve essential financial goals.
  • Identify and build relationships with potential supporters and community partners.
  • Organize and coordinate fundraising events, including logistics and promotion.
  • Respond to media inquiries and create social media posts to educate the public about pending legislation.
  • Compose e-blasts, social media posts, and produce fundraising materials.
  • Mobilize volunteers to increase public awareness and engagement, and for political advocacy and action.
  • Plan and lead volunteer events, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and ethical practices in fundraising and volunteer management.

Qualifications:

  •  Proven experience in fundraising, event planning, and volunteer engagement.
  • Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate volunteers and donors.
  • Knowledge of political advocacy and alignment with prioritizing tenants’ rights.
  • Proficiency in using donor databases and persuasive writing.
