Vallie Brown has received more than 8 times the amount of donations from the real estate industry compared to Dean Preston. They are both running for San Francisco Supervisor District 5 in the November 2019 election. Could this be why Vallie Brown has been supporting Senate Bill 50, which we oppose because SB 50 would make housing more unaffordable for the following reasons:

1. We would have to build the equivalent amount of housing built since 1920 to maybe reduce housing costs.
2. Market-rate housing increases the need for affordable housing because more city services are needed which are provided by the lower-income service workers.
3. Market-rate housing displaces affordable housing.
4. SB 50 has no enforcement mechanisms for stopping evictions in rent-controlled, affordable housing.
5. SB 50 provides no funding for important services needed for the increased population such as transit.
