Tenants are often intimidated into taking a buyout because the tenant does not understand the tenant’s rights to stay. Even if you want to move, beware of any buyout service that claims to be able to calculate your buyout by their formula. No two tenant scenarios are the same.

Affordable Housing Bonus Program Will Not Demolish Residential Units

The San Francisco Planning Commission voted to remove projects that would demolish residential units from the Affordable Housing Bonus Program. Originally, many residential units including rent-controlled units were at risk of being demolished, but community pressure, including by the San Francisco Tenants Union, took the residential units out of the program.
